Purina Veterinary Diets Customer-
Purina Veterinary Diets is enhancing some of their canned therapeutic diets, in both the canine and feline formulas. If your pet is only on the dry Purina Veterinary diets these formulation changes do not involve you. The newly improved formulations are adjusting to better meet your pets’ nutritional and palatable needs. (The only Purina Veterinary Diet Therapeutic cans that will not be affected with these modifications will be the Feline UR Canned.)
In accordance with the newer improved formula the canine can sizes will increase from a 12.5 ounce can to a 13.3 ounce can, and the cases will go from a 24 cans case to a 12 cans case. The feline formula can will remain the same size and will still be available in the 24 cans case.
With the substitutions that will be occurring we recommend to transition your pets’ diet over a period of several days. You can do this by simply feeding a little less of the old formulation and gradually adding a little more of the newer formula until your pet’s dietary change is complete.
If your pet is only on the Purina Canine EN formulation only at times their gastrointestinal issues are present, and not on the EN formulation consistently, this changeover will not be necessary. The newly revised formulation should not affect your pet’s digestibility in these cases of irregular dietary change. If your pet is on the Purina Canine EN Formulation at all times this gradual switch is still recommended.
We will be continuing to carry a limited amount of the previous formulation up until the new diets will be available and possibly some time after. If you need to purchase some of the former product we recommend, if possible, buying the product individually by the cans rather than by the case (to save you on cost of purchasing an entire 24 cans pack).
The newly improved diets will be available for purchase on Monday October 05, 2009.
